The Lost Days of Gregory XIII:
A celebration of the unfinished & the lost

Incipient Canton of Kaldor
October 4, 2008
Sauvie Island, OR

Kaldor invites you to come and celebrate lost time and the unfinished project with us. In 1582 Pope Gregory XIII of Gregorian Calendar fame, instituted the correction to the Julian calendar that eliminated 10 days to allow the solar calendar to once more align with the civil calendar. In honor of those lost days we present a lighthearted day-long celebration of lost things, unfinished projects and the ability to laugh in the face of time.

We will be celebrating our lost days with:
An Unfinished Arts and Sciences Display and Competition & a second Barely Finished A&S Competition

"Recipes for the Poppa" Potluck contribution Competition -using recipes from the tables of the Popes –Recipes available from autocrat starting August 15

"Gregorian Chant-a-thon" -Dinner entertainment...our challenge to bards and humorists to create a Chant in a Gregorian Style to entertain the Feasters. Written only as well as the more challenging Performed categories will be encouraged. Themes of Italy, SCA, time, the barony, the Canton, Gregory, calendars, gardens or fall are all encouraged.

"Don't be unfinished Masque making" - Class and craft table for masque making to prepare for the Baronial Autumn Masque later in October.

"The Treasure of Time Hunt" Clue-driven calendar and time themed treasure hunt. Read up on your calendar history for extra help with this one!

Unfinished Themed workshops -no fee, round table/idea generators of 30 minutes to an hour with themes relating to unfinished SCA aspects on themes like costume, heraldry, encampment bits, A&S Competition entry, etc.

"Gregory and the Calendar" Table Games. Bring your sense of humor, your unfinished projects, and your Medieval Calendar trivia.
