The Non-member Surcharge

What is it?
Back a few years, the BOD was looking for ways to make up for projected revenue shortfalls. After soliciting suggestions, one of the more proposed solutions was the Non Member Surcharge. The BOD decided to go with NMS as a temporary measure to bank some reserves.
When does it apply?
There are two criteria, both of which must be true before NMS applies.
- There has been published a full announcement in the CRIER (event copy) of your event.
- There is a site fee, no matter what you call it, or a mandatory donation to attend the event.
Who does it apply to?
The fee applies to any adult who cannot prove current membership in the SCA but wishes to attend the event. This applies to both a full fee and/or a day trip fee. It does not apply to discounted minor fees.
How much is the fee?
$3 if you are collecting US funds, $4 if Canadian funds.
What do I submit?
Please send your check ($US) made out to the Kingdom of An Tir, SCA Inc. You must also furnish the following data with your submission; Event Name, Event Date(s), Total attending, Number of Non Members, Total Surcharges collected. There is a great form here.
Who gets it and when?
NMS Deputy. The Kingdom Seneschal, has delegated responsibility in this area to the NMS Deputy. You can find full contact information in the back of every Crier. You are to submit within 30 days after the end of your event. At the end of the calendar quarter, the AnTir Exchequer forwards the collected funds and data to corporate.
Please refer any issues or questions to either the An Tir Seneschal OR the NMS deputy.
